“Denying children access to quality education increases their vulnerability to gender discrimination and pervasive social, cultural and economic injustices which treat girls as second-class citizens. It is true, girls, more than boys, are at greater risk of such abuse when they are not in school. A girl child faces more challenges on her journey to acquire education than boys. The physical changes of puberty coincide with enormous emotional and psychological challenges…” the government of United Republic of Tanzania in partnership with the private sector and individuals is investing in interventions that are aimed at increasing enrollment and retention of girls…”
